Ready for the Thunder - Flats

I'll probably move this to scraps when the finish one goes up- if the finished one goes up.  My track record of finishing ANY of Danah's pics is not good.

Whelp.... I figured since I did this pic to define her anatomy AND her racial markings, I might as well actually do a version that actually features them.

Danah is so horribly complex visually and narratively and I personally feel sorry for anyone else who attempts to draw her in that full complexity.  Seriously, don't attempt it.  I own the character and I can only draw her when I either don't have to do her markings or am so inspired the idea throttles me and I have to draw her.

No idea when I'll actually have time to do the shadows and lights on her, so just flats and gradients for now.  She's also supposed to have lightning sparking from her hands and general aura, but I just really didn't want to deal with that yet.  

I actually didn't pick the dress color, it was suggested by someone else (well, they said "yellow" then qualified it with "gold or bronze") and I ran with it.  I had entertained the idea of doing a pattern on the hems, and then decided to not punish myself, and I made a pseudo starfield type of thing.  Definitely much more of a modern dress than what she would normally wear, but it has a nice effect of giving her a slightly more "ethereal"/goddess look than she normally sports.

While I was working on this, Fall Out Boy came on on my playlist and it kinda surprised me how well the songs fit for her personality and general feel.  Totally had little fight scene music videos playing in my head while I worked on this.
